The Gantt Chart is a modern and extremely easy-in-use project plan system.

This system allows you to specify complex tasks sequences - a task or multiple tasks can be required to be completed before other tasks can be started. This modern and extremely handy program makes project management a real pleasure. It allows any specialist to create a profile to run a personal schedule.

The program enables users to switch between profiles to view the schedule of any staff member, it is also possible to view multiple profiles simultaneously or open the schedules of several specialists at the same time. Once you've specified a required sequence, it is automatically visualized across a horizontal timeline.

Task dependency is shown via connector lines. This software tool can display completion percentage for each individual task. An overall progress indication option is also available. You can edit task dependencies, create new task connectors and of course re-schedule individual tasks. The program also has the Auto Backup feature that allows saving the data to the secured archive. What is important, the data from Gantt Chart can be exported to many different formats, like MS Outlook, XML, HTML, XLS and TXT. It is also possible to import the data into the program.

The program has a built-in Print Designer, which offers a variety of original templates and options to make a fine and clear printout of a schedule.

This is a book of practical robotics written for beginners but also catering for those who have progressed a little further beyond that stage. It describes the mechanics of robot construction, how to build the electronic circuits, and finally goes into the details of programming robotic systems.
The first half of the book is a cookbook of information, ideas, tips, and suggestions for the first-time roboticists and others. Much of the content will be of interest and practical use to students in Further and Higher Education who are working on a micro-controllerbased project (though not necessarily a robotic one).
The second half of the book describes the designing, building and programming of five robots of varying degrees of complexity. The specifications are flexible and essential features are emphasised so that the designs are readily adaptable to whatever materials and parts the reader can obtain. Each description points the way to more advanced development of the project, resulting in a wide range of fascinating and often unique robots.

Optical communication systems date back two centuries, to the “optical telegraph”
invented by French engineer Claude Chappe in the 1790s. His system was a series of semaphores mounted on towers, where human operators relayed messages from one tower to the next. It beat hand-carried messages hands down, but by the mid-19th century it was replaced by the electric telegraph, leaving a scattering of “telegraph hills” as its most visible legacy.
Alexander Graham Bell patented an optical telephone system, which he called the Photophone, in 1880, but his earlier invention, the telephone, proved far more practical. He dreamed of sending signals through the air, but the atmosphere did not transmit light as reliably as wires carried electricity. In the decades that followed, light was used for a few special applications, such as signaling between ships, but otherwise optical communications, such as the experimental Photophone Bell donated to the Smithsonian Institution, languished on the shelf.
